The Health Benefits of Beer

A study recently published in the Journal of American College of Cardiology found that moderate drinking of beer can increase the lifespan of people. The beverage contains silicon, an essential mineral for bone formation. In addition, it has been shown to improve cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of developing diabetes. But there are a few things to keep in mind before enjoying beer. To start with, it’s not recommended to drink too much. And, don’t let the taste fool you. Moderate drinking does have some health risks.

Beer is an alcoholic beverage made from grain, hops, yeast, and water. Though the exact composition of these ingredients varies from country to country, they typically consist of malt, water, and hops. Hops are added later and are the most common ingredient in beer. However, not all countries have legal requirements for beer. In Germany, a beer is considered to be alcoholic if it contains malt, hops, and yeast.

In order to make beer, malts are first heated to crack open the grains. The hot wort is then transferred to a coolship (also called a koelschip), which exposes the liquid to the air to kickstart the brewing process. Once this process is complete, the beer is transferred to another vessel. It will then undergo a secondary fermentation process before it is brewed. However, this step isn’t necessary for many beers.
