London Pub Reviews

London Pub Reviews is a ten-part audio series based on the book of the same name, starring Tim Key. Each episode consists of a fictional review of a real pub in London. The series’ author, Paul Ewen, is a New Zealand writer living in south London. His work has appeared in The Guardian, Dazed and Confused, and the British Council’s New Writing anthology. The British council has called his first book “comic genius.”

The Beer Hall of Fame has a nice selection of local beers on tap and a decent wine list. It has a great cocktail menu, and it is also pet-friendly, which is a plus. There is an open bar and no smoking, so there’s no need to worry about bringing the kids here. The beer selection is also impressive, with plenty of alcoholic beverages available. The menu is a bit more elaborate than at a bar, but the classic British pub dishes are still available. Fish and chips, bangers and mash, and pastries are all traditional British fare. Since they are not meant for large meals, pub food is usually light and easy to eat. If you do get hungry, consider ordering a lighter snack. A full restaurant menu is offered in some bars, too.

While the menu at pubs tends to be simple, the food is often more sophisticated than at a bar. A traditional British pub menu is a must-try, and may include burgers, chicken wings, fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, bangers and mash, and pastries. It is important to note that pub food is not usually large. You should order light bites or light snacks. However, you should also try the food at a restaurant if you’re planning on ordering a full meal.
